Men Jailed For Killing Asthmatic Boy In Enugu Jubilate After Regaining Freedom

It was a moment of jubilation after some inmates awaiting trial were freed at the Enugu high court complex as five of them who had spent five years in prison were discharged and acquitted of a crime they said they did not commit. According to Chijioke Okibe, one of the freed men told him that their journey started since 2013 when they were detained by Enugu SARS at their cell for allegedly killing a young asthmatic boy but that it happened that one of the inmates was tortured by SARS men which led to his death Five of them were as a result in ASA rated for five years but were discharged for want of diligent prosecution by Hon. justice CI Nwobodo yesterday 29/11/17

Edo Central, North Monarchs Urge DSS, Police To Arrest Ijaw Traditional Rulers

BENIN—TRADITIONAL rulers from Edo Central and North senatorial district of Edo State, today, raised an alarm over alleged plot by Ijaw traditional rulers in Bayelsa states to disrespect the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, and called on security agents to arrest and prosecute the ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, Pere Oboro Gbaraun over the botched attempt to install one Godwin Ogunyebo as the Pere of Olodiama Kingdom, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.  The traditional rulers who insisted that Gelegele is part of the enclave of the Oba of Benin, described as disrespectful and an abomination, the attempt by the paramount ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom to come and install a king in Benin Kingdom without the consent of the Oba of Benin, adding that if the perpetrators are not arrested, “we will head to Abuja to protest this act of rebellion against the revered Benin monarch.”   Addressing newsmen in Benin today, the First Vice Chairman, Edo State Council

CYRIACUS IZUEKWE A 70-year old landlady, Mrs. Victoria Kilani has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly engaging suspected criminals who broke into her tenant’s apartment through the roof and stole his properties. P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 30 Arowojobe Street, Oshodi, Lagos where the tenant, Ugo Oluaka resided. It was gathered that Mrs. Kilani and other suspects at large gained access into Oluaka’s apartment, used razor blade to tear bags found inside the apartment and stole N950,000 cash, vehicle documents and other valuables kept inside the apartment. The victim claimed that he had lived in the house for over 15 years and was paying his rent without Mrs. Kilani giving him receipts.  He said there was disagreement between him and Mrs. Kilani over four months arrears before the incident happened. CYRIACUS IZUEKWE A 14-year old house maid dislodged a barren woman after she was impregnated by the woman’s husband simply known as Emmanuel, as she insisted she will not share or live with Emmanuel’s wife under the same roof. The incident happened at Egbeda area of Lagos where Emmanuel resided with his wife and they had not been able to bear a child after years of marriage. P.M.EXPRESS reports that the maid reportedly insisted that the embattled woman should look for another husband elsewhere since she was unable to bear a child for Emmanuel before she got pregnant for him. Davido has just clinched another award for himself, and this time, it’s the Best African Act at the just concluded MOBO Awards which took place in Leeds at the First Direct Arena. Davido who was nominated for the Best African Act category with other African artistes such as Maleek Berry, Eugy, Juls, Mr Eazi, Sarkodie, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Wizkid and OBO made everyone proud by clinching the award. Wizkid won the category of Best international Act against fellow nominees which are great American artistes and legends such as JayZ, Cardi-B, Solange, Drake, SZA, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Migos and Kendrick Lamar…….now that is the wave of a Baba Nla like he fondly calls himself and we are excited about this height of recognized international acclaim. Last night, the 22nd MOBO Awards held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom. The ceremony saw Stormzy add to his growing awards haul as he picked up three out of a possible five gongs at this year’s MOBO Awards.  The London-born artist dominated the star-studded ceremony as he fought off competition from Sampha, J Hus and Skepta to be crowned Best Male Act and Best Grime Act.
