As he celebrates his birthday today, Nigerian rapper and YBNL boss Olamide adds yet another feather to his cap with the launch of his very own television station, vots (Voice Of The Streets) . vots will be available on Play TV from Thursday, 15th of March 2018. Olamide wrote on his Instagram page: "I dedicate this television station to my late mum and dad. Thanks for letting me chase my dream .also to my son Batifèori maximiliano adedeji when I look up in the sky I ask myself why am I trying to live if I’m just living to die,but when I look down I see the answer. The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, has presented one million naira cheque to the immediate family of late actor, Obi Madubogwu. The cheque was presented by Hon.Desmond Elliot  to the late actor’s widow, Uju Ngozi Madubogwu last Thursday. Present at the presentation was the late filmmaker cum actor’s friend, Nobert Ajaegbu, a popular lawyer and movie  marketer. The widow expressed her thanks to the governor and prayed for God’s blessing for him. Hon Elliot also commended the Governor’s magnanimity and passed the governor’s condolence message to Obi’s family.

This year has to be the Best for Davido, as he’s won so many awards, and released several bangers this year alone. Davido has just clinched another award for himself, and this time, it’s the Best African Act at the just concluded MOBO Awards which took place in Leeds at the First Direct Arena. Davido who was nominated for the Best African Act category with other African artistes such as Maleek Berry, Eugy, Juls, Mr Eazi, Sarkodie, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Wizkid and OBO made everyone proud by clinching the award. His counterpart, Wizkid also made Africa as a whole proud, by clinching the Best International Act, beating the likes of Drake, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Solange, Kendrick Lamar among others.

At the Just concluded MOBO Awards 2017 that took place in Leeds at the First Direct Arena, Wizkid and Davido have taken home some major awards. Wizkid won the category of Best international Act against fellow nominees which are great American artistes and legends such as JayZ, Cardi-B, Solange, Drake, SZA, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Migos and Kendrick Lamar…….now that is the wave of a Baba Nla like he fondly calls himself and we are excited about this height of recognized international acclaim. Other stars who shone last night include, Stormzy, J Hus and Craig David.

Last night, the 22nd MOBO Awards held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom. The ceremony saw Stormzy add to his growing awards haul as he picked up three out of a possible five gongs at this year’s MOBO Awards.  The London-born artist dominated the star-studded ceremony as he fought off competition from Sampha, J Hus and Skepta to be crowned Best Male Act and Best Grime Act.
